Community Guidelines

Last updated: 22 July 2026.

This community exists so that curious seekers can discuss Greek mythology with each other in good faith. To keep the archive a welcoming place, please follow these rules whenever you post a thread, reply, or profile detail.

1. Be kind

Assume the other person is here to learn. Disagree with the idea, not the person. Personal attacks, slurs, harassment, threats, doxxing, and identity-based hate speech are not permitted.

2. Cite your sources

Myth traditions differ wildly between sources and eras. When you make a factual claim ("Athena did X in the Hymn to Y"), name the source. It elevates the discussion and helps newcomers.

3. Original or attributed content only

Post only what you have the right to post. Quote briefly and link out; do not paste entire chapters, translations still under copyright, or AI-generated slop presented as your own scholarship.

4. No spam, promotion, or scams

No affiliate links, referral schemes, crypto pitches, MLM invitations, or unrelated advertising. Sharing your own scholarly work occasionally is fine — say so up front.

5. Keep it safe for work

Myth contains violence, sex, and cruelty. Discuss those themes seriously and with content notes where appropriate. Do not post sexual, violent, or graphic imagery.

6. Moderation

Moderators may hide, lock, or delete posts that break these rules and may suspend or ban repeat offenders. Report a post by writing to help@worldofgreekmythology.com with a link.

7. Appeals

If your post was hidden or your account restricted and you believe it was in error, reply to the moderation notice or email us. We reply within seven days.
